Who We Are
Bennachie Horizon is a new training service for
adults with learning disabilities, based in Aberdeenshire.
We provide meaningful structured learning opportunities through outdoor activities, creative projects, and community involvement. Our aim is to support people to build confidence, develop new skills, and feel part of something every day.
Bennachie Horizon CIC exists to provide non-formal education and vocational training for adults with learning disabilities. Our mission is to deliver meaningful learning opportunities that promote independence, social inclusion, and personal growth. We do this by creating structured training activities, preserving and creating friendships, encouraging appropriate social interaction, and providing community services. With a strong financial strategy that avoids reliance on government funding, we are committed to being a sustainable and forward-thinking service. Bennachie Horizon CIC is a holistic training organisation that nurtures confidence and supports personal development, by unlocking potential to reach beyond!

Why We Started
We started Bennachie Horizon because too many people with learning disabilities are being left behind.
When local council services were reduced, many individuals lost their support systems, friendships, and daily structure. Bennachie Horizon was created to help fill that gap by offering a space where people can keep learning, stay active, and enjoy being with others in a safe and supportive environment, through structured, work-based and educational activities..
We’re here to protect what matters most: community involvement, personal development and social connections.

Our Values
Outdoor Activities

We use the outdoors as our classroom, from gardening to meaningful group tasks, giving every day structure, purpose, and connection. These nature-based sessions support mental health, physical wellbeing, and shared achievement.
